The Chairperson of the Republic Electoral Commission Vladimir Dimitrijevic sent a letter to the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen in which he strongly denies the allegations from the open letter in which 38 NGOs and 36 professors expressed concern over allegedly "pre-planned voter fraud" in the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections in the Republic of Serbia on 3 April 2022.

"I would like to stress that the allegations of a planned election theft in the upcoming elections are absolutely incorrect and tendentiously placed in order to justify the opposition’s poor results in advance, and to accuse the current government, through the electoral management bodies, of rigging the election results.

Although all the allegations from the open letter published on 25 March in the daily "Danas" are incorrect, I call for expanding the capacities of all the observation missions, with over 3,500 observers registered so far, so that the current election process can be observed as comprehensively as possible.

I would like to remind you that all the opposition political parties participating in the elections have the right to appoint over 300,000 of their own representatives to all the polling boards."
