The polling stations will be open from 7 am to 8 pm, and the voting will be secret and personal. The polling stations were opened on time, with a slight delay in the opening of some due to high interest of the voters and the preparation of members of the polling boards for the beginning of the vote, so the Commission Chairperson asked for understanding from both the voters and the members of the polling boards.
6,451,292 voters can exercise their right to vote at a total of 8,392 polling stations, 29 of them in facilities for the enforcement of criminal sanctions and 93 abroad in 37 countries, while for the voters in the Autonomous Province of Kosovo-Metohija, 60 polling stations were set up and the voting will take place in Vranje, Kursumlija, Raska and Tutin.
The ballot contains 18 electoral lists, with, in some places as many as 29 language variants, depending on the languages and scripts in official use in a given municipality/city.
Dimitrijevic went on to say that a total of 16,271 observers had applied to follow the elections, 26 of them representatives of national associations, as well as 57 foreign organisations, institutions, parliamentary delegations, electoral commissions and diplomatic representative offices, these elections proving to be of great interest for both domestic and foreign observers.
In addition to the Republic Electoral Commission, among bodies for the conduct of the vote, local electoral commission and polling boards are also in attendance. The local electoral commissions have a total of 6,998 members in the permanent and expended composition.
